Ambassador Ertharin Cousin
CEO & Chair
Ertharin has spent her entire career working across the public and private sectors to solve the crisis of malnutrition. Cousin served as United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Executive Director. During her tenure, WFP operated in 80 countries, with a budget averaging over five billion dollars per year and a staff of 14,000 providing direct food assistance to more than 80 million people each year. With Cousin’s support the WFP team also identified, championed and implemented longer-term, more sustainable solutions for global food insecurity and malnutrition.
David Ockleshaw
Managing Director, Operations
David is a successful CEO with 40+ years of experience across the food industry. Initially working in the UK and Australia, David came to the US in 1980. He founded the Bellwether Group, a consultancy concerned with change management. Clients include American Stores, Food Lion, Jewel Food Stores, Meijer, Pillsbury North America, Nestle USA and Au Bon Pain. Throughout his career, David has been President and CEO of various food companies during periods of change, typically divestitures, turnarounds or transition through bankruptcy.
Our approach
The Good Food Opportunity Fund works in conjunction with the Food Systems for the Future Institute to support portfolio businesses in achieving robust nutrition impact in targeted underserved communities across the United States.
